Stephen King- Chief Executive Officer Stephen J. King, President and CEO, brings vision and leadership to the OpenMake Software team. He's not the famous mystery writer, although he does write and lecture about archetypes in today's business world. Mr. King has authored dozens of articles for publications ranging from Marketing Magnified to SD Times, and he is regularly invited to speak at business and technology events throughout the United States and Canada. Prior to joining Catalyst, Mr. King was CEO of Marqui, a software as a service provider of web 2.0 marketing solutions whom he joined in June 2004. Prior to Marqui, he was Executive Vice President and General Manager at Merant PLC, a $130M global enterprise software provider, he was responsible for all aspects of marketing, engineering, and business development.
He played a key role in a dramatic turnaround at Merant, and its successful acquisition by Serena Software creating close to $300m in shareholder value. Prior to joining Merant in February 2002, Mr. King led Terayon Communications Systems' cable solutions group, growing the business by more than 20 percent per quarter to $280 million in revenue. Prior to that, he served as the chief operating officer at digital video start-up Imedia Corporation, and as a Regional Manager for the Middle East and Africa for Tektronix. Steve Taylor - Chief Technical Officer - Co-founder Mr. Taylor is an expert in software build management spanning multiple languages and platforms. He currently serves as CTO of OpenMake Software and is the architect of OpenMake Meister, the first commercially available build management solution. With more than 20 years of experience in application development, Mr. Taylor has the answers for solving the most difficult of build and release issues. Prior to founding OpenMake Software in 1995, Mr. Taylor served as a Technical Consultant assisting companies with defining a solid build and release process. Early in his career, Mr. Taylor recognized the need for a solid and agile build process that could easily adapt to source code changes. At this time he began developing the build procedures which have since become OpenMake Meister. Mr. Taylor received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics from the University of Illinois-CU.
Tracy Ragan - Chief Operations Officer - Co-Founder Ms. Ragan has had extensive experience in the development and implementation of business applications. She began her consulting career in 1989 consulting to fortune 500 organizations in the areas of testing, configuration management and build management. It was during her consulting experiences that Ms. Ragan recognized the lack of build management procedures for the distributed platform that had long been considered standard on the mainframe. In the four years leading to the creation of OpenMake Software she worked with development teams in implementing a team-centric standardized build management process. Ms. Ragan currently serves on the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors as an Add-in Provider Representative. Ms. Ragan received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA.
Ray Kratville, Vice President of Consulting Services With more than 30 years experience in the IT industry, Raymond Kratville was most recently practice director for Serena Software where he managed the sales and delivery of professional services to commercial accounts in North America. Prior to its acquisition by Serena, he served as vice president of Consulting for Merant where he was recruited to help restructure consulting services. Ray was instrumental in creating a worldwide program to standardize marketing and delivery of consulting services and sales engineering. During his tenure, he gained broad experience in the development and deployment of packaged solutions and creating strategic alliances. Ray was also founder of Nascent Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in technology infrastructure design and implementation. He has directed global field-support functions and managed major projects while residing in North America and Europe.
Mark Manzo, Executive Vice President of Sales
With more than 20 years of software sales and marketing experience in the IT industry, Mark Manzo was most recently senior director of North American Partner Sales for Serena Software where his turnaround expertise helped increase year-over-year license revenue more than 40 percent. Adept at program design and restructuring, Mark has established and propelled effective business partnership programs for several software development industry leaders. Mark has promoted and managed award-winning strategic business alliances between some of software’s most diverse companies, including Microsoft, IBM, SAP, Mercury, Remedy BMC, Merant, Serena and Accenture. While working with Microsoft, he was a key member of two Microsoft Partner Advisory councils. Mark’s early career included directing marketing and sales for industry pioneer Vermont Creative Software, and sales management for PVCS creator Polytron/Intersolv. A graduate of the University of Colorado, Mark has been recognized by the Portland Business Journal as a “Forty under 40” business leader.
