Configure Machine/Activity Environment Fields

New Environment Variable

In both the Configure Machine Environment and Configure Activity Environment fields, you can define either variables and/or scripts to configure the environment that your machine and/or activity work within. Global configuration settings are the default for all activities on all machines unless you override them at this level.  Configurations set at the machine level will be the default for all activities on that machine unless you override them at the activity level. You can set both machine- and activity-level configurations on the Activities Tab screen.  When you select a machine, Configure Machine Environment appears; likewise, when you select an activity listed under the machine, Configure Activity Environment appears. To add a variable, click on the New Environment Variable button and then enter the variable name and a value. You can also choose one of the pre-defined values by clicking on the macro button within the New Environment Variable pop-up window. After clicking OK, the configuration field will display the new variable as Set. If you delete the value of this variable using the Edit button, the variable will then be displayed as Unset.

New Environment Script

To run scripts that may affect numerous environment variables or other configurations, enter a name for the script into the New Environment Script pop-up window. This script’s name will appear in the configure environment field labeled as Run.

Edit Environment Variable/Script

Environment variables and scripts in either the Configure Activities Environment or Configure Machine Environment fields can be edited by first highlighting the variable or script in the configure environment listings.  By clicking on the Edit button, either the Edit Environment Variable or the Edit Environment Script pop-up window appears, depending on whether you are editing a variable or a script. For purposes of editing, these windows display all the same input lines found in the New Environment Variable pop-up window.

Remove

Variables and scripts can be removed from either the Configure Activities Environment or Configure Machines Environment fields. To complete this action, highlight the variable or script in the configure environment listing and then click the Remove button.
