All Mojo users need to be on build 237 or higher.... 9 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0&nbsp&nbsp
I just finished up a phone call with a customer who was experiencing some problems installing Mojo for evaluation purposes. It turns out that he was attempting to install a very early version of Mojo that had known installation issues in certain configurations. Prior to the call I asked him to download the latest version of Mojo from our website. During the call we had Mojo installed and Workflows executing within 5 minutes.

CHECK YOUR BUILD NUMBER
If you are using Mojo, please ensure that you are on build 237 or later (these versions are what are currently available for download through our website). Earlier versions had known install problems in certain configurations. You can tell what build number you are running by doing the following:

If Mojo will launch...
1 - Click on the "Help"->"About Mojo" menu item and the build number will be listed on the resulting about dialog as "Build ID:".

If Mojo won't launch...
1 - Navigate to the <Mojo_install_directory>/plugins directory
2 - Extract the contents of "com.openmake.application_1.x.x.jar" to a temporary location
• Note that a jar file is just like a zip file. You will be able to extract the contents of the jar file using any common zip utility (e.g. WinZip, 7-Zip etc.) on Windows or the jar program on *Nix platforms

  •
3 - Open the extracted "about.mappings" file in any text editor (e.g. Notepad, Texpad, VI etc.)
    4 - The file will have contents like:

    0=7.0
    1=237
    2=2007

    Entry 1 is the build number (in this case 237).

    REINSTALL MOJO
    If you discover that you are using an earlier build number, please do the following to uninstall your old version and get the latest version installed:

    Uninstall Mojo
    1 - stop the Knowledge _base_ Server.
• WINDOWS: Click on "Start Menu" -> "Programs" -> "OpenMake 7" -> "Stop KB Server"

  • *NIX: Change to the <Mojo_install_directory>/kbserver directory and run "perl stopkb.pl"

  •
2 - delete the Mojo install directory
• This will be the directory where you originally extracted the openmake-mojo.zip file.

  •
3 - delete the Openmake Application Data directory (NOTE: this directory may not exist or have contents depending on how early the Mojo version is)
• WINDOWS: Open Windows Explorer and enter %APPDATA% in the address bar. Delete the "openmake" directory.

  • *NIX: Change to your home directory. Remove the ".openmake" directory

  •
Reinstall Mojo
    1 - Download the latest Mojo zip file
• http://www.openmakesoftware.com/downloads/update_site_7.0/openmake-mojo.zip

  •
2 - Extract the openmake-mojo.zip file into the directory where you want to install Mojo
    3 - Launch Mojo and follow the initial installation instructions.

    The steps above should get you up and running on the latest version of Mojo.

    UPDATING IN THE FUTURE
    Now that you are on a version without install problems, you should not need to reinstall the application again. You can download and automatically install the latest Mojo application updates by doing the following:

    1 - Launch Mojo
    2 - Click on the "Help"->"Find Updates..." menu item and follow the update instructions.

    Hope that helps,
