Step 4 Create a Separation of Duties for Build Management

Once you have established your reusable Build Scripts and Build Best Practices, you can easily create a separation of duties between development teams and central "production control".  You no longer need to rely on the development teams to manage pre-production builds.  And becuase the buid scripts are dynamic, they can be automatically re-created to run on different machines removing the reliance on a particular person or machine to get the builds done.

Once builds and workflows have been created, they can be promoted to a Public status, with only certain groups having Public viewing privileges.  With Openmake Meister you can create secured Users and Groups allowing you to share critical information to those that need it now.  This simplicity allows production control the ability to execute builds without the development team's hand holding.  In addition this on-demand information allows you to coordinate the locations of shared components such as SOA objects to keep diverse teams in sync.
