OpenMake Software Announces End of Life for OpenMake 6.4xChicago, IL–May 20, 2009– It has been over 3 years since Openmake V.6.4.1 ceased to be licensed and was superseded by Meister V.7.0. During that period, OpenMake Software has continued to support Openmake 6.4.1 and earlier versions with technical support, maintenance releases and bug fixes. Effective December 31, 2009, Openmake V6.4.1 and earlier versions will no longer be supported except for contractual obligations that have been made prior to June 1, 2009. For Openmake V.6.4.1 and earlier after December 31, 2009: - Bug fixes, updates and maintenance releases will no longer be available.
- Technical phone or email support will not be generally available. OpenMake Software will attempt to provide existing and known solutions and workarounds on a fee basis and subject to availability. However, problem resolution may require upgrade to the then current version.
Openmake 6.x users are encouraged to upgrade to the newest release of OpenMake Meister 7.2x in order to receive build support for Microsoft .Net 2005/2008, J2SE, Eclipse and IBM RAD. In addition, features to support continuous integration and workflow processing have been added to support agile development methodologies. Maintenance Contracts are no longer being renewed for Openmake V.6.4.1 or earlier versions. In order to obtain maintenance support for Openmake V.6.4.1, you will need to upgrade to the current version.
